Scope
This policy describes how the current Android version of E-Book Organizer handles information when you import, organize, and read your own EPUB books. The app works without an account or an internet connection for reading.
Information accessed and stored
When you choose files through Android’s document picker, the app reads the selected EPUB files and creates app-managed copies in its private storage. It extracts book content, chapter information, available cover images, and metadata such as title, author, language, and file size.
The app also stores library records on your device, including collection names and membership, your current chapter and reading position, dates when books were added or last opened, bookmarks and their creation times, and personal notes. It assigns local book identifiers and calculates file fingerprints to detect duplicate imports. Reading and display preferences, including text size, typeface, background, line spacing, margins, and library layout, are saved locally.
Library searches run locally. Search text is not saved in the library records or sent to the developer. The current implementation does not request access to contacts, location, camera, or microphone.
Collection and purposes
The app processes this information on your device to import and display books, organize and search your library, identify duplicate files, show reading progress and recently opened books, restore reading locations, and save your bookmarks, notes, and preferences.
The current implementation does not transmit library contents or usage information to the developer. It has no account registration, advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote crash-reporting service. Some errors may be written to local Android diagnostic logs; the app does not include a service that uploads those logs to the developer.
Sharing and third-party components
The app does not automatically share your library information with advertisers or other third parties. Its included components, such as Jetpack Compose, Kotlin coroutines, and jsoup, support the interface and local processing. The inspected implementation contains no advertising or analytics SDK.
Android’s document picker handles your choice of import files and export destinations. If you choose a cloud-backed document provider, that provider may download or upload the selected files under its own privacy practices.
Android backup is enabled in the app configuration. Depending on your device, Android version, and backup settings, app data may be included in operating-system backups or device transfers. Those processes are handled by Android or your backup provider rather than an app-operated synchronization service.
Exports
You can export library records as a JSON file to a destination you select. The export contains metadata, collections, reading positions, bookmarks, notes, and saved preferences, along with supporting library record fields. It does not include the EPUB book files and is not a restorable book backup.
Exported files may contain personal information you entered in notes or collection names. Anyone with access to an exported file may be able to read it. You control where the file is saved and whether it is shared. Removing information inside the app does not remove previously exported copies.
Network access and security
The Android application declares internet permission, but the inspected library and reading features do not use a developer-operated server. The reader loads locally stored EPUB resources, blocks network loads, disables JavaScript, and removes certain active content from book pages. Its internal resource address is used to serve local book content rather than contact a website.
App-managed books and records are stored in Android’s private app storage. The app also checks imported archive paths and limits archive sizes to reduce risks from malformed files. These measures do not guarantee security.
The app does not implement its own encryption for library records or exported JSON files. Protection of device storage, backups, and document-provider transfers depends on the operating system, your settings, and the provider involved. Because the app does not upload library data to the developer, there is no app-to-developer transmission for which encryption in transit applies.
Retention and deletion
Library files and records remain in local app storage until you remove them or clear the app’s data. There is no automatic expiration period in the current implementation.
Use Remove book in a book’s details to delete its app-managed copy, extracted resources, reading progress, bookmarks, and notes. Your original imported file is kept. You can also delete individual notes, remove bookmarks, and delete collections. Deleting a collection removes its grouping information without deleting its books.
You can clear the app’s storage through Android settings or uninstall the app to remove its local app data. Original EPUB files, exported JSON files, and copies retained by backup or document providers must be managed separately. Backup retention and deletion depend on the relevant provider and your settings.
For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The developer cannot remotely access or erase the library stored on your device. If you send a support email, the information you choose to include is handled through email to address your request. A specific retention period for support correspondence has not been established in the available information.
Children’s privacy
No specific target age group has been established in the available information. The app does not ask for a user’s age or include accounts, advertising, or analytics. Books and notes entered by any user are processed locally as described above. A parent or guardian can use the app’s deletion controls or Android storage settings to remove locally stored information.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or its data handling. Updated policy text should be reviewed alongside the version of the app you use.
